Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw will be eager to show the fans and cricket fraternity his return to form at the upcoming series vs Sri Lanka.
The Delhi Capitals batsman has been a vital cog in the IPL franchise and will be looking to perform under captain for the SL series - Shikhar Dhawan. Shaw and Dhawan are also teammates in the IPL franchise of Delhi Capitals.
Speaking exclusively on Star Sports' Show Game Plan, former Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan lavished praise on Prithvi Shaw ahead of India's tour of Sri Lanka, "He will be able to capitalize on the performance he gained in Vijay Hazare Trophy. So, what he did, he went out to domestic cricket after his poor run last year in the IPL. He scored tons of runs in domestic cricket and then he tried to replicate the same in the IPL - he was able to do it consistently as well. The way he did it - with the right technique - he did some adjustments in the technique. His bat is coming close to his body - which is fantastic - he is very, very still, that helps, and if he is scoring in domestic cricket then he can score in international cricket, as well. So, that IPL performance confidence will definitely boost his performance in Sri Lanka, as well."
Prithvi Shaw has played 3 ODIs scoring 84 runs averaging at 28. His top score is 40, but he will be looking to better that.
Team India are scheduled to face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series starting July 18 which will be followed by three T20Is.
