Chennai Super Kings pacer Simarjeet Singh helped the hosts restrict Rajasthan Royals to 141 runs in the IPL 2024 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The pacer bagged three wickets by conceding just 26 runs in four overs. Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals now need to chase 142 runs to win the IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings. The visitors reached the total by losing five wickets.

Tushar Deshpande was another CSK bowler to register wickets in the IPL 2024 match against RR. Completing his quota of four overs, he claimed two wickets and leaked 30 runs. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Maheesh Theekshana and Shardul Thakur went wickets in the IPL 2024 match against RR. Shardul went for 32 runs in his spell which was the most expensive from Chennai's perspective.
Having won the toss, RR captain Sanju Samson opted to bat first in the IPL 2024 match against CSK. Openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal after getting a good start failed to convert it into huge scores. Facing 21 balls, Jaiswal scored 23 runs including 3 fours and 1 six. Buttler on the other hand, scored 21 runs off 25 deliveries. His knock was laced with 2 fours. Samson was only able to score 15 runs in 19 balls. Dhruv Jurel scored 28 runs before getting dismissed in Tushar Deshpande's over. His 28-run knock came in 18 balls including 1 four and 2 sixes. Shubham Dubey departed on the very first ball of his innings. RR's premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin stayed unbeaten on one run in one ball. In-form batsman Riyan Parag scored an unbeaten 47 runs in 35 balls. Parag's unbeaten knock was laced with 1 four and 3 sixes.
