England pacer Mark Wood was on Monday ruled out of the third Test against India with a jarred shoulder, dealing another blow to the under-fire hosts, while the visitors received a boost after pacer Shardul Thakur was declared fit to play.

Wood had hurt his shoulder while fielding during the second Test at Lord's with India going on to win the game by 151 runs to take 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Meanwhile, Thakur, who played the first Test at Trent Bridge, suffered a hamstring injury and was ruled out of the second Test.
