England have reached 290 runs for the loss of five wickets in their first inning at the stroke of lunch on the third day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test on Saturday.

The English men trail by 155 runs after India's 445 runs in their first innings. Centurion Ben Duckett who ended day two of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test at unbeaten 133 runs went on to score 153 before losing his wicket to Kuldeep Yadav. The opener chased the delivery and hit it straight to cover with the toe end of the bat, as Shubman Gill took an easy catch. The visitors' spin wizard Kuldeep bagged two wickets before lunch.

Ben Stokes-led England team resumed the third day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test with an overnight score of 207 for two wickets. They lost their stalwart batsman Joe Root for 18 runs in the hosts' lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah's over.

Indian players wore black armbands in memory of former captain Dattajirao Gaekwad on the third day of the ongoing IND vs ENG 3rd Test on Saturday.

Ravichandran Ashwin who achieved the milestone of completing 500 wickets in the longest format of the game on day two of the ongoing test match has withdrawn due to a family emergency. The absence of Ashwin came as a major blow to the India camp.

The next man in, Jonny Bairstow, departed without opening his account with Kuldeep trapping him in front of the wicket. Then, Kuldeep took the prize wicket of Duckett to reduce the visitors to 260/5.

At the break, skipper Ben Stokes (39 not out) and Ben Foakes (6 not out) were at the crease.
