The ICC World Cup 2023 match between South Africa and Afghanistan saw fast bowling mastery. The Proteas' bowlers restricted the Afghans for 244 runs in their must-win clash of the ICC World Cup 2023. Azmatullah Omarazai's knock of 97 helped Afghanistan to put a fighting total.
Azmatullah Omarzai raised his bat in the 37th over's first ball as he completed his fighting half-century. Rashid Khan who shouldered Omarzai lost his wicket to Andile Phehlukwayo for just 14 runs.

Kagiso Rabada who is playing his 100th ODI match did not get any wickets against Afghanistan, today. Proteas' bowlers displayed their pure dominance in the first innings. They bowled in the right areas and did not concede many runs.

Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran got Afghanistan to a decent start but later lost their wickets. They also lost the wicket of their skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi for just two runs.
Rahmat Shah with Azmatullah Omarzai was trying to stabilize the innings but lost his wicket in the hands of David Miller.
Despite the fall of wickets, Omarzai kept batting in the middle. He played a knock of 97 runs in 107 balls laced by 7 fours and 3 sixes.
