The ICC World Cup 2023 now heads towards its next clash in which India faces Sri Lanka this afternoon. The match will be played in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium.

Sri Lanka skipper Kusal Mendis have won the toss and elected to bowl first against India.

The 'Men in Blue' and the 'Lankan Lions', as they are fondly called, will be playing their seventh match of the ICC World Cup 2023. So far, Team India has been maintaining its winning streak in the tournament with six wins, whereas, Sri Lanka have just won two matches. Both the teams will look to secure two points in today's clash.

India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has not fully recovered and will again miss the match due to his injury.

Cricket fans will be eyeing two Indian players in today's match. Home boy Rohit Sharma has his highest ODI score of 264 runs scored against Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli is just one century away from levelling the record of 'Little Master' Sachin Tendulkar. It will be the record for most ODI centuries in world cricket. Kohli currently has 48 ODI centuries under his belt and will look to score another against the Lankans.

The story of South Africa vs New Zealand:

In this match, New Zealand skipper Tom Latham won the toss and elected to bowl first. Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma opened the innings for South Africa. Kock went on to score his fourth century in the ICC World Cup 2023. He ruthlessly smashed the Kiwi bowlers for 114 runs. Following him, Rassie van der Dussen smashed 133 runs in just 118 balls, and David Miller scored 53 runs. Proteas set a target of 358 runs for the Kiwi's to chase down.

None of New Zealand's batters were able to score huge runs except Glenn Phillips who smashed 60 runs. But, all his efforts went in vain as New Zealand was bowled out for just 167 runs. South Africa registered another win in the ICC World Cup 2023 and this by 190 runs.
