The ICC World Cup 2023 match between India and Sri Lanka is underway In Mumbai at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. After the dismissals of the two set Indian batters, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer walked in to guide India to a respectable total. Iyer muscled up his innings by smashing huge sixes and KL, on the other hand, continued to play sensible cricketing shots. Both completed their 50-run stand in Dusmantha Chameera's over. In the 39th over, after the first ball, the Sri Lankan right arm pacer tricked Rahul and picked his wicket for 21 runs.

Team India lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma in a quick session. Sharma smashed a four before getting bowled in Dilshan Madhushanka's over. After the dismissal of the Indian skipper, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli shouldered the innings with crisp batting in the middle. The duo went on to complete their 100-run stand in just the 17th over of the match.

Shubman Gill scored 92 runs before getting caught in the hands of the Lankan skipper Kusal Mendis. Virat Kohli was on the verge of levelling the record of Sachin Tendulkar but was dismissed by Dilshan Madhushanka.

Dilshan Madhushanka had the wickets of India's top order batting lineup within his grip.

Suryakumar Yadav smashed a boundary on the second ball after he entered the ground, but was not able to convert his innings into a big score. Madhushanka Displayed an exceptional show with the ball by registering five wickets under his name.

Set and steady Iyer brought up his half century in style by hitting four to Maheesh Theeshana. He scored 82 runs in just 56 balls and was dismissed in Madhushanka's over. Ravindra Jadeja played a cameo by smashing 35 runs in just 24 balls.

After the dismissal of Rohit Sharma, Indian batsmen rolled up their sleeves and set a target of 358 runs for Sri Lanka to chase down. The game now goes in the hands of Indian bowlers.
