In the 25th clash of the ICC World Cup 2023, England will face Sri Lanka in Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match will start at 2.00 pm.
Sri Lankan has not had a great World Cup campaign so far. Out of the four matches they have won just one. The Lankan Tigers faced a major blow in the tournament after their regular captain Dasun Shanaka was ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023 due to an injury.
England will play the Match on the back of two straight losses to Afghanistan and South Africa. So far the English have won just one game and lost three. The defending champions look dangerous on paper but have not been able to deliver performances so far. England is also reeling with injuries, lately with lead pacer Reece Topley ruled out of the rest of the tournament due to a finger injury. Today's clash against Sri Lanka is a chance for England to prove themselves. England needs to win their remaining five matches to make a late appearance for the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup 2023.

England and Sri Lanka have faced each other in 78 ODI matches. England is leading with 38 wins whereas Sri Lanka has won 36 matches. One match between the teams ended in a tie and three matches ended with no result. There's not much difference in the winning ratio between both the teams.
Star all rounder Ben Stokes's return to the side will contribute to more opportunities in the team's win. England however will feel the absence of one pacer in today's clash.
