The ICC World Cup 2023 ongoing match between South Africa and England is being played in Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium. England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to field first against the Proteas.
Temba Bavuma is ruled out of the crucial match for South Africa due to illness. Aiden Markram took the responsibility to lead the Proteas. Reeza Hendricks has been named as a replacement player for Temba Bavuma.

Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks opened the inning for South Africa. With the early loss of the wicket of Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen came in to bat at no. 3. Hendricks and van der Dussen made a 121-run stand after the opener's dismissal. Rassie van der Dussen smashed impressive 60 runs before throwing his wicket in the hands of Jonny Bairstow in Adil Rashid's over.

Reeza Hendricks's inning of 85 runs was ended by Adil Rashid. Both van der Dussen and Hendricks stabilized South Africa's inning. Klassen is the new batsman who entered after the wicket. South Africa are now 165 runs for 3 wickets.
Veteran spinner Adil Rashid struck important wickets for England.
South Africa's skipper Aiden Markram departed after playing a short inning of 42 runs. His wicket turned the tables towards England.
