Former Indian cricketer-turned-coach Ravi Shastri celebrates his 59th birthday today. The all-rounder, who was a force to reckon with during his cricketing days, was showered with blessing and birthday wishes on his big day as the Indian cricket fraternity went on social media to send their wishes to him.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) led the wishes on Twitter as they wrote, "1983 World Cup winner, 230 international games, 6938 runs and 280 international wickets. Here's wishing @RaviShastriOfc - former India captain & present #TeamIndia Head Coach - a very happy birthday. ð ðÂÂÂ."

Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane also wished his coach as he wrote, "Happy Birthday, Ravi Bhai. May you keep uplifting our spirits both on and off the field. Wish you the best of years ahead."
Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik shared a close up of Shastri with Indian players and had a lovely caption, "The tracer bullet turns a year wiser today! Wish a very happy birthday to you @RaviShastriOfc."
India pacer Ishant Sharma also posted a picture along with Shastri and wished him, "Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Ravi Bhai!! Best wishes to you on this day, praying for your good health, wealth & happiness!! Have a good one! @RaviShastriOfc."
Ravi Shastri featured in 150 ODIs and 80 Test matches for Team India scoring 3108 and 3830 runs respectively in those formats.
He was first appointed head coach of the Indian cricket team in August 2017 and again in August 2019, Ravi Shastri was re-appointed.
