Their three-game winning streak snapped after a loss to Punjab Kings, five-time champions Mumbai Indians will look to address their poor death over bowling when they take on a resurgent Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. After a familiar poor start, MI enjoyed a hat-trick of wins but their impressive run was cut short by Punjab Kings with a 13-run win on Saturday.

A brief overview

Mumbai were let down by their death over bowling as they conceded 96 runs in the final five overs to allow PBKS post 214 for 8, and they will have to sort out their bowling ahead of the GT clash. It was the pace quartet of Arjun Tendulkar, Jason Behrendorff, Cameron Green and Jofra Archer who were put under the pump as all of them conceded more than 40 runs in their quota of overs. The experienced Piyush Chawla and his spin bowling colleague Hrithik Shokeen, however, have been on the money as they restricted the flow of runs, with the former snapping two wickets as well. MI's batting unit has looked formidable with the top and middle order being among runs.

While Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have given a good start to the team on most occasions, Suryakumar Yadav's return to form is a big positive for MI, who have been served well by the overseas duo of Cameron Green and Tim David.

Criticised for not being able to defend totals this season, GT showed how to do it with a master class at the death overs to strangle Lucknow Super Giants' chase in their previous match. The star of GT bowling was comeback man Mohit Sharma, who walked away with the player of the match award after using his variations to telling effect against the Lucknow side. GT were in a dire situation with LSG cruising at 105 for 1 in 14 overs while chasing 136 but the bowlers, led by Mohit, denied them as he defended 12 runs in the final over. While Mohit has been a revelation, veteran Mohammed Shami too has been among the wickets.

11:10 PM: Gujarat Titans win by 55 runs

MI's performance was a mismatch despite being five-time champions. Struggles with strike rotation, inconsistent batting, and poor death bowling resulted in a nightmare for fans. In contrast, reigning champions KKR reminded everyone why they hold the crown, with their middle-order making vital contributions and their bowlers causing problems for MI. Despite some late big hits, MI suffered a crushing defeat.

11:00 PM: 139/8 after 16 overs

Nehal Wadhera attempts to scoop a slower delivery from Mohit Sharma, but the lack of pace prevents him from making proper contact. The ball ends up being an easy catch for Shami at short fine, resulting in Wadhera's dismissal. He scored 40 runs off 21 balls, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes.

10:50 PM: 90/6 after 13 overs

Noor Ahmad removes Suryakumar Yadav with a caught and bowled, MI in trouble as SKY departs! The delivery was a flat one which spun away from the middle, Suryakumar tried to punch it back to the bowler but ended up giving a simple catch to Noor Ahmad who took it low and sharply. With this dismissal, MI's hopes of a comeback in the game seem to be fading away. Suryakumar Yadav departs for 23 off 12 balls, including three boundaries and a maximum.

10:40 PM: 59/5 after 11 overs

Tim David departs for a golden duck as Noor Ahmad seals victory for Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians. The ball was a low full toss that David tried to power away, but he failed to get the desired elevation and ended up hitting it off the bottom of his bat. Abhinav Manohar at deep mid-wicket shuffled to his left and took a fine catch to end the game. It was yet another brilliant display of spin bowling by the two Afghan spinners, who played a crucial role in GT's victory.

10:22 PM: 59/4 after 10 overs

Noor Ahmad sends Cameron Green's leg stump cartwheeling with a flat and spinning delivery, leaving Mumbai Indians in dire straits. Green attempted a wild slog towards the leg side, but missed the ball entirely. The leg stump was uprooted, and Noor Ahmad took the vital wicket. Green departed after scoring 33 runs off 26 balls, including three sixes.

10:10 PM: 53/3 after 9 overs

After playing a blistering knock in the last game against PBKS, Cameron Green is looking to be aggressive against inexperienced Noor. 13 runs from his first over. Tilak Varma departs for a mere two as Rashid Khan strikes with a plumb LBW appeal! The ball pitched on a length and straightened with the angle, beating the batsman's defence and striking him on the pads. Although Rashid was surprised when the umpire didn't raise his finger initially, the decision was overturned upon review. Varma has to depart, leaving his team in a spot of bother.

10:02 PM: 43/2 after 6 overs

With over 200 runs to chase, MI have failed to capitalise on the powerplay and lost their captain. Ishan Kishan needs to make this inning count. Oh no, just couldn't get any worse for Mumbai. Ishan falls to Rashid Khan's deceptive delivery, caught by Joshua Little, and another disappointing inning comes to an end.

9:40 PM: 4/1 after 2 overs

In a predictable move, Hardik Pandya claims a caught and bowled wicket of Rohit Sharma. The ball had been moving sufficiently and Rohit appeared uneasy at the crease. Hardik bowled a quick delivery at 144.2km/h, hitting the pitch hard and making the ball straighten. Rohit tried to flick it around the corner but misjudged, causing the leading edge to go straight up.

9:30 PM: 2/0 after 2 overs

Shami is getting swing in the first over. Just 2 singles from the over. Josh Little comes in for Shubman Gill.

9:10 PM: Mumbai Indians need 208 runs to win

Gujarat Titans have posted a massive total of 207 runs on the board courtesy some brilliant knocks from Shubman Gill, David Miller, and Abhinav Manohar. This is a really difficult situation for the Mumbai Indians as GT have a really good bowling lineup waiting for the game to get started and put the pressure on MI.

8:58 PM: 172/4 after 18 overs

Abhinav Manohar is on fire, he is batting on 42 off 20 balls at the moment. Cameron Green is taken to the cleaners by Manohar with three maximums against the Australian.

8:49 PM: 137/4 after 16 overs

David Miller and Abhinav Manohar are in the middle for Gujarat Titans, both batters are looking in great touch at the moment. GT will eye 170 plus on the board for sure if these two play the remaining four overs.

8:38 PM: 103/3 after 13 overs

Gujarat Titans lose two wickets in quick succession as first Shubman Gill departs and then Vijay Shankar is gone trying to hit Chawla for a maximum. Another wicket for the leggie in Ahmedabad.

8:26 PM: 91/3 after 11 overs

Shubman Gill gets caught by Suryakumar Yadav off Kumar Kartikeya's delivery. Mumbai Indians finally get the wicket they were looking for. GT 3 down now as the dangerous Gill departs.

8:15 PM: 64/2 after 8 overs

Gujarat Titans pin hopes Shubman Gill who is looking in sensational rhythm at the moment, batting on 38 off 23 balls with 4 boundaries and a maximum so far.

8:05 PM: 52/2 after 7 overs

Hardik Pandya gets caught by Suryakumar Yadav off Piyush Chawla's delivery. Mumbai Indians get another wicket just after the powerplay and it is the leg-spinner Chawla who gets it.

7:59 PM: 33/1 after 5 overs

Gujarat Titans bounce back with Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya, GT will look to finish with at least 52 runs from the powerplay. A good start for Mumbai Indians courtesy Arjun Tendulkar's fine two overs.

7:45 PM: 17/1 after 3 overs

Arjun Tendulkar removes Saha as Ishan Kishan was successful in catching the ball down the leg. After speaking with Shubman Gill, Saha signals "T" very late. Actually, the timer had run out. It was nonetheless sent upstairs. Saha attempted the pull on the quite short delivery down the leg-side. Did it brush past the glove or bat en route? Yes, UltraEdge has experienced a spike.

7:30 PM: Match begins!

Four dots, a tripple and a single from Arjun Tendulkar's first over. The left-arm pacer found good swing in his first over after a poor game last time out.
