All-rounder Tanish Shetty's magnificent performance with bat and ball helped Goregaon Centre achieve a stunning victory over Vasai Centre in the final of the 25th Ajit Naik Memorial U-14 selection trials cricket tournament, organised by Worli Sports Club under the aegis of Mumbai Cricket Association on Tuesday.
At the Worli Sports Club, left-handed batsman Tanish smashed 106 off 75 balls including 14 fours and two sixes for his team to amass 380-6 in response to Vasai Centre's 232 all out.
While Tanish's spell of 5-72 was striking, he was ably supported by medium pacer Nikash Nerurkar, who returned figures of 4-36.
Goregaon's skipper Arjun Lotlikar opened the innings and scored a brisk 86 providing them a good start in pursuit of Vasai's 232.

Tanish and Ishan Malaviya (73) put on 119 for the fifth wicket, punishing the Vasai bowlers all over the park.
The game slowly started drifting away from Vasai as they offered a lot of freebies and couldn't stem the flow of runs. Tanish was declared player of the match.
Goregaon's left-arm spinner Saurish Deshpande was adjudged player of the tournament for his 18 wickets in five matches.
