Despite a shocking loss to Ireland in their second game and a wash-out against Australia, Eoin Morgan, who led England to their first-ever ODI World Cup triumph in 2019, is still upbeat about their chances in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. "I think England will surely qualify for the last four. They have an explosive batting department which makes me hopeful," said Morgan.

England take on New Zealand in a must-win game at Brisbane today. When asked about the semi-finalists from Group 2, he said, "India will go through along with South Africa unless some upsets take place or the weather has a major say. Both teams fought so hard the other day. Despite a low total, the Indians took the game till 19.4 overs against the Proteas. [Lungi] Ngidi bowled perfectly on a fast and bouncy track."

Morgan, who played 23 ODIs for Ireland before joining the English team, was impressed with lower-ranked teams competing in the tournament. "The Netherlands, Ireland, and Zimbabwe have played good cricket and that has made the tournament interesting. Hopefully, we see more of that in the future," he added.

Morgan, who is doing commentary for the World Cup here, is not missing playing the game at all and may look at a coaching role in future. "I've no regrets about quitting. I had enough. Commentary has provided me the opportunity to get attached with the game and I'm enjoying that. I might foray into coaching, but I am not in a hurry though," he said.
