Ashton Agar, the new Aussie spin hope

19-year-old becomes Australia's 12th youngest Test debutant and the 12th spinner to try and replace Shane Warne


Since the retirement of the great Shane Warne in 2007, Australia have struggled to find a spinner to replace him, despite repeated attempts.

Warne's contemporaries Stuart MacGill and Brad Hogg are among those who initially tried to fill the breach but a variety of new players have also been unearthed by Cricket Australia.

Ashton Agar today became the latest on whom the Aussies are pinning their hopes.
