Australian coach John Dyson became the latest casualty of West Indies' bitter cricket turmoil yesterday when he was sacked as coach by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) following the humiliating home Test and one-day series defeats to whipping boys Bangladesh.
"The services of John Dyson have been terminated with immediate effect. Assistant coach David Williams will fill in on a temporary basis," said a WICB statement. Dyson took over as coach in October 2007 after another Australian, Bennett King stood down after the World Cup. Dyson had earlier coached of Sri Lanka.
