India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has posted a strong social media message in support of young students, who are physically harmed by their teachers.

Dhawan has opted out of the ongoing India vs Australia ODI series to be by the side of his ailing wife, Ayesha. This morning, he posted a news story of a female teacher in a Kanpur school beating a young male student with a wooden duster and fracturing the boy's hand.

"Jalaad nahi teacher chaiyeh school mein (we don't need monsters, but teachers in schools)," wrote Dhawan alongside the video post. "Have to teach kids to stand up against wrong and stop it there itself," he added. Well said!
