Justice (Retd) RM Lodha, the man who played an important role to bring about a major revamp in the way cricket is run in India, advised the to-be officebearers of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to do full justice to their position and then leave after the stipulated period.
"Do your best and then leave it for the others to come. You can't stick to a job for decades. It's always the infusion of new blood that actually brings about new thinking and new ideas," Lodha told the media on the sidelines of eminent jurist, late Nani Palkhivala's biography release 'Nani Palkhivala - God's Gift to India' written by economist Dharmendra Bhandari at the Cricket Club of India yesterday.
On January 2, the Supreme Court directed BCCI and all state associations to implement recommendations of the committee headed by Lodha. He added there will be fresh timelines now and new administrators will implement them. Asked about state associations who are not following the timeline, he said: "Just wait for January 19. As soon as administrators are appointed by the Supreme Court and they take over, things will move fast." Lodha said that his role of supervising cricket administration and providing guidance will continue.
