Chasing 117-run target set by ARCS Andheri was never going to be a daunting task and it is exactly what happened at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday evening as Triumph Knights won by seven wickets and 27 balls to spare.
The win helped Triumph Knights take second spot in the points table while Arcs Andheri slumped to fifth position with one win and two defeats.Triumph Knights (Mumbai North East) got off to an exceptional start, scoring 50 runs in just six overs. Openers Shashank Singh (50-ball 63) and Sumit Ghadigaonkar (32 off 20) put up a 70-run opening stand before the latter was dismissed at deep covers, courtesy a sensational and well-judged catch from Akhil Herwadkar with another teammate also attempting the catch.
Earlier, ARCS Andheri's batting mainly revolved around opener Doraiswamy Subramanian, who smashed a 37-ball 49. Once Subramanian departed, ARCS Andheri fell like nine pins, losing their next five wickets for just 12 runs in 30 balls. Iqbal Abdulla tried to lift his team with a run-a-ball 27.
