Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara elected to field after winning the toss against Bangladesh in the opening match of a triangular one-day series here on Monday.

India are the other team in the tournament. Each side will play four league matches before the top two qualify for the final on January 13.

Bangladeshi paceman Shafiul Islam made his one-day debut.

Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Ashraful, Raqibul Hassan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Abdur Razzak, Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam.
