Where will Virender Sehwag bat when he is free from his shoulder problem which has kept him out of the playing XI at the World T20? It's anyone's guess considering reports of the India dasher's reluctance to open the innings.
However, Sunil Gavaskar says Sehwag is best suited to open. "He is an exclusive opener. He should open the innings and I would like to see him get a hundred in Twenty20 cricket."
Sehwag has scored 15 Test and 11 ODI tons but he has yet to reach the three-figure mark in cricket's latest form.
What does Gavaskar think about skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni bringing his team to the media area on Friday and reading out a statement which rubbished talk of disharmony in the team? "Well, I did a similar thing in my career. There was a media report that questioned our commitment so we went to the newspaper office during a conditioning camp in Bangalore. On after thought, we should have avoided doing that," said Gavaskar during a press conference to announce him as a radio commentator for the World T20.
"The media has a job to do and Indian cricket has always had controversy, but overall the relationship between the media and players has been quite smooth.
"I am not worried about this situation because you have five fingers. When you close them, it becomes one hand," said Gavaskar.
