Batting great Sachin Tendulkar is only 79 runs away from scoring 17,000 runs in one-day internationals. But having failed in the previous two ODIs Tendulkar has a great opportunity to reach yet another milestone at the Feroze Shah Kotla today.
Tendulkar is perhaps the only batsman in this Indian batting line-up who can negotiate the devious Kotla wicket.u00a0
And skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni believes that Tendulkar can achieve the feat today.
"You always expect a big score from Sachin and more often than not he delivers," Dhoni said on the eve of the third ODI yesterday.
Nothing better
"If he can get 17,000 runs in this game, there cannot be anything better for the team because he is one batsman who, if he stays at the crease, also helps and guides the batsmen at the other end. So we get runs from both ends."
Meanwhile, the talking point of this series has been Harbhajan Singh's form. The off-spinner has had an abysmal series so far. And Dhoni admitted Harbhajan is not bowling at his best, but is confident that he will bounce back soon. "He is an individual who loves challenges. We are waiting because he will bounce back and get us those wickets that we really need during those middle overs. We are not too worried about these experienced guys who have spent enough time at the international level," Dhoni said.
