Sachin was attending a function at Bandra's Rang Sharda to release a CD of his departed father, Ramesh's poems and a book of poems written by his eldest brother Nitin.
It was revealed that Tendulkar Sr was gifted a car by his famous son on his 65th birthday and to Ramesh's credit, he learnt driving at that age. Not only that, he had the habit of speeding as discovered by his other son Ajit.
Sachin, a car freak, said in a lighter vein that no one should blame him now for indulging in speeding. Sachin was asked some rapid fire questions by noted journalist Dwarkanath Sanzgiri and he fared well. One of the questions was who he feared more: his mother Rajni or wife Anjali. But Sachin said that they both feared his temper at home.
Sachin will now get ready to play his sixth World Cup. He first figured in a World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 1991-92.
His father expired during the 1999 World Cup in England. Sachin famously returned to India for the funeral and scored a hundred in his next match against Kenya at Bristol. According to the Tendulkar family, that was an unbelievable effort.
