Skipper Raunaq Sharma's all-round show helped Parsee Gym beat Islam Gym by 87 runs in the first round of the Young Comrade Shield at PJ Hindu Gymkhana yesterday. Sharma scored 178 in his side's 369 all out even as Islam's young left-arm spinner Musheer Khan claimed 7-101. In reply, Islam (282) fell short thanks to a four-wicket burst by leg-spinner Sharma.
DPC's batters too good
Hosts Worli SC batsmen Sumedh Tare's 92 and Sachin Keni's 57 went in vain as Dadar Parsee Colony SC comfortably chased 296 with three wickets to spare. At one stage, the Dadar side were struggling at three for 39, but Pranav Kela (109) and Ashutosh Gharge (58 not out) helped in a three-wicket win.
PJ Hindu win thriller
PJ Hindu Gym beat CCI by one wicket with just four balls to spare. Sujit Nayak (104) and Vinit Indulkar (82) helped CCI score 316 for nine, but Anup Revankar's 113 and Parth Shah's 44 saw PJ Hindu Gymkhana home.

Mumbai Police win easily
Mumbai Police Gym registered a thumping 200-run win over Payyade SC. Chirag Khurana (137), Shahid Shaikh (63) and Sachin Shinde (46') stood out in Police's mammoth total. Payyade SC were bundled out for 186 in 46 overs with spinner Shinde picking 3-45.
