In a high-scoring four-day encounter, the Aditya Tare-led Mumbai drew first blood after posting 447 in the first innings. The Aditya Waghmode-led Baroda replied with a gutsy 397 in response but was not enough.
Abhishek Nayar's 89-run contribution, while coming in at No 8 also added to the Mumbai score.
In the end, Mumbai finished proceedings on 202-5 with Suryakumar Yadav unbeaten on 100.
Dhawal Kulkarni's fifer in the Baroda innings also helped Mumbai get those crucial points at the Reliance Stadium.
