Mumbai coach Sameer Dighe called for a more responsible approach from his batsmen after suffering an eight-wicket defeat to Saurashtra in a crucial Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match in Rajkot yesterday. Mumbai skipper Aditya Tare chose to bat first, but except for himself (39 off 23 balls), only Siddhesh Lad (39) and Dhawal Kulkarni (19 not out) were able to counter the opposition bowling attack led by medium pacer Shaurya Sanandia (4-22).

Seven Mumbai batters did not even enter double figures. Mumbai were bundled out for 130 in the 20th over before opener Robin Uthappa's 36-ball-52 helped Saurashtra win in the 18th over. Mumbai have a chance of staying in the hunt if they beat Maharashtra convincingly today. "Everyone needs to understand their role. The batsmen need to understand their responsibility and play well against Maharashtra since we have a good chance to stay in the tournament on the basis of better quotient," said Dighe.
