The Mumbai Ranji Trophy selectors have again left out ex-international Abhishek Nayar when they picked the team for the Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Karnataka. The team, posted on the Mumbai Cricket Association website, indicated that India pacer Shardul Thakur has still to recover from his shoulder injury.

Now, much will depend on India pacer Dhawal Kulkarni and newcomer Akash Parkar for the December 7-11 clash in Nagpur. The selection committee led by former India pacer Ajit Agarkar, picked medium pacers Sagar Trivedi, Shivam Malhotra and Shivam Dube, all of whom have yet to play a Ranji Trophy game.
The 15-member squad captained by Aditya Tare has batting sensation Prithvi Shaw, but will miss Shreyas Iyer as the attacking batsman is in the India squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Shaw would have been busy with the U-19 camp for the forthcoming World Cup in New Zealand, but it seems he got the nod to figure in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final.
