With Real assured of second place and Mallorca safe from relegation the game will be remembered as Fabio Cannavaro's final game in front of the Madrid fans as he joins Juventus in the summer.

Real began with plenty of possession and got the breakthrough when Gonzalo Higuain headed home after 20 minutes but Juan Arango equalised minutes later against the run of play.

Cannavaro left the pitch to applause ten minutes into the second half but following his substitution Real struggled to deal with the Mallorca attack.

Cleber Santana scored a superb goal and then the victory was confirmed with another fine strike by Alhassane Keita.

On Saturday, Barcelona celebrated their league triumph despite losing 1-0 to Osasuna.u00a0 There was a fireworks display as Carles Puyol received the league trophy at the Camp Nou.
