The Maharashtra Cricket Association's (MCA) Annual General Meeting yesterday unanimously accepted the Committee Of Administrators (COA) resolution to implement the Lodha Committee report as per the July 18, 2016 Supreme Court order. After getting the Managing Committee's nod to implement the sweeping reforms earlier this month, the MCA's general body too agreed to implement it.

"It was unanimously decided to agree with the resolution and also accept any changes as per the Supreme Court's order thereafter," MCA president Abhay Apte told mid-day from Pune. As per the two-part draft resolution that the COA wants associations to sign are: "Resolved that the (Name of the Association) is agreeable to undertake, implement and support the reforms as proposed by the Hon'ble Justice Lodha Committee and accepted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court vide judgement dated 18th July 2016 in letter and spirit.

"Resolved further that in the event the Hon'ble Supreme Court passes any further orders in relation to the recommendations of the Hon'ble Justice Lodha Committee and/or the judgement dated 18th July 2016, such orders shall also be accepted and implemented within one month thereof."

By adopting the resolution, the MCA will now be eligible to receive funds from the BCCI.
