The senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader yesterday appealed against his disqualification from the polls. Munde's nomination was rejected on the grounds that he is not a permanent resident of Mumbai.
His lawyer put forward their appeal to MCA president Ravi Savant. "The hearing on this matter is scheduled for 3 pm tomorrow," confirmed Dr PV Shetty, joint secretary of MCA.
As per records, Munde is a permanent resident of Beed. However, he had claimed to MiD DAY in an interview on Monday that he has enough proof to indicate he is a resident of Mumbai. If Munde's nomination stays rejected, Sharad Pawar, who headed the MCA from 2001 to 2011, will be elected unopposed.u00a0
