New Delhi: Cricket Association of Bihar secretary Aditya Verma was a happy man after the Supreme Court accepted all the recommendations of the Lodha panel and directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to implement them.

Verma was the man who initiated the Indian Premier League corruption case against ex-BCCI president N Srinivasan. Verma also wanted the inclusion of his Bihar association in the BCCI fold. "The report submitted by the Justice Lodha Committee on January 4, 2016 was a culmination of the whole episode. Now, this landmark judgment will restructure and reform the richest cricket board in the world," Verma told mid day.
A bench of Chief Justice TS Thakur and Justice Ibrahim Kalifullah accepted all major recommendations of the Lodha panel including one state, one vote. It means not only Bihar, but even smaller states like Nagaland and Puducherry will have voting rights.
"The BCCI was trying to do everything possible to keep Bihar out of the cricket world. In its affidavit in Supreme Court, the Board's stand was that its affiliation committee will decide the affiliation issue. This was shocking," added Verma.
