It's cricketers' day out at the Australian Open with players from the Indian and Australian teams making a beeline for the Rod Laver Arena to watch the high-octane Federer vs Djokovic semis tie
There may be an exciting T20 international series going on Down Under, but even the cricketers from both the Indian and Australian team could not resist the lure of the Australian Open semi-final face-off between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in Melbourne.
Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh took time off from their busy schedule to catch the high-octane semi-final, which saw the former champion Federer losing to world No. 1 Djokovic.
Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh posted a courtside selfie from the Rod Laver Arena. The match also had a former Indian cricketer also in attendance -- VVS Laxman, who is also a Federer fan like Kohli.
Unfortunately, both Kohli and Laxman were left disappointed after Djokovic sent Fedex packing 6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to enter his sixth Australian Open final and fifth successive Grand Slam final.
Also spotted at the Australian Open were Australian Test skipper Steve Smith and his teammates Glenn Maxwell and Peter Siddle. And from their posts on social media both Maxwell and Smith seem to be Federer fans as well.
Steve Smith had the honour of meeting legendary tennis player Rod Laver after the match and he retweeted an image of his fan boy moment.
