Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal made a decent Maharashtra attack look pedestrian as he powered Karnataka into the final with a comfortable nine-wicket victory in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Saturday. Maharashtra's batting collapsed on a day when it mattered most. On a good batting track, Maharashtra managed a paltry 160 in 44.3 overs.
The target was never going to be a big ask for a quality batting line-up as openers Agarwal (81 off 86 balls) and skipper Karun Nair (70 off 90 balls) made merry with no pressure of scoreboard, achieving the target in only 30.3 overs.
Agarwal has become the highest ever run-getter in a single edition of National One Day with 633 runs. Saturday's knock had eight boundaries and a six. Karnataka seamer M Prasidh Krishna (2-26) and offie Krishnappa Gowtham (3-26) were the wreckers-in-chief.
