Speaking to ANI yesterday, the former India skipper said: "In his prime, he batted like Vivian Richards.

He played more shots than other administrators, scored more hundreds and wielded his stick.

"I would often pull his leg later on that he is the undisputed heavyweight champion of BCCI. You write him off at your own peril.

He was like the Muhammad Ali of the BCCI. His contribution was massive. He was very passionate about the game. For him it was the BCCI and that's it."
