Given the performance of the side at Trent Bridge in the first Test, India may go with the same XI. In doing so, they would be ignoring the advice of the likes of Geoffery Boycott and Nasser Hussain who would like to see off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the XI.

Meanwhile, England's predicament centres around left-arm spinner Simon Kerrigan's inclusion in the XI. As much as they would like to have him, they will not be able to discount Moeen Ali's performance. He hit a century against Sri Lanka recently and took four wickets in the first Test.
