Just like last Thursday, India 'A' fell short in a run chase against their Australian counterparts in a tri-series match here yesterday.

India lost by 25 runs after being set a massive target of 311 runs. Rohit Sharma and Murali Vijay put on 79 for the opening wicket and skipper Cheteshwar Pujara posted a half century, but that wasn't enough for the Indians to taste victory.

Parvez Rasool followed up his one for 55 with an unbeaten 27 off 23 balls as India's last wicket fell at 285 in the penultimate over.

Earlier, opener Shaun Marsh slammed 96 off 107 balls before Glenn Maxwell's 93 off 56 balls demolished the Indian bowling. However, Stuart Binny claimed four for 55. Binny failed with the bat, getting stumped by Tim Paine off Fawad Ahmed for two.

Brief scores: Australia ‘A' 310 for 7 in 50 overs (Shaun Marsh 96, Glenn Maxwell 93, Mitchell Marsh 34, NM Coulter-Nile 37 not out; Stuart Binny 4-55) beat India ‘A' 285 all out in 48.3 overs (Rohit Sharma 61, Murali Vijay 60, Cheteshwar Pujara 51, Ambati Rayudu 32; Josh Hazlewood3-59, Moises Henriques) by 25 runs.
