While the Kings lost their last game to Mumbai Indians despite scoring 198, the Lions successfully chased 188 set by Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday, a much-needed win which has rejuvenated the Lions.
"After the way Aaron Finch and Brendon McCullum set about chasing, we were never unsure of our win. Suresh Raina played a brilliant innings and made the chase a lot easier," the Lions' assistant coach Sitanshu Kotak told mid-day. "We badly needed this win ahead of our important game against Kings XI Punjab. It has boosted our confidence." Batting continues to remain the Lions' strength. And it has been seen so far that they excel more in chasing than setting targets.
