Volunteers left stunned after bottles were thrown from the stands
The North Stand crowd at the Wankhede Stadium, comprising mostly of underprivileged kids from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools and NGOs, turned unruly after Mumbai Indians' 20-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.

A section of the crowd started hurling packed mineral water glasses on to the field near the Tata End area. Later on, the crowd targeted photographers and cheerleaders from the Hyderabad franchise.
While some photographers were seen shielding themselves with their chairs in order to protect their expensive equipment, the cheerleaders hid between the stage and the advertising boards on the boundary line. A few volunteers then rushed towards the cheerleaders to protect them from the unprovoked attack. After a while, the cheerleaders sprinted behind the sight screen below the press box.
MI too not spared
The crowd did not even spare some MI players. Mumbai Ranji Trophy batsman Siddhesh Lad, who was walking with his state mate and MI wicketkeeper Aditya Tare, was lucky to escape after a glass of water fell right in front of him when the team was taking a lap of the ground.
The ugly scenes continued for around 15 minutes before the volunteers brought the crowd under control. Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma did not wish to comment on the incident.
