All they have done for team principals is adding to their cholesterol and heartburn. Any grand plans of selling off their old players and getting value for money with some outlandish new purchases has gone up in smoke with the side crawling at rock bottom.

So their 'home' against Kings XI Punjab is in all probability going to be another three hours of misery for them and their fans. If there any left, that is. As for KXIP, this is expected to be another step to make the knockout stages.

The anti-thesis among the two people leading the two sides couldn't be overstated. DD have the expensive Kevin Pietersen, a larger-than-life character who was expected to carry them on his broad shoulders.

On the other side is the understated George Bailey, an almost invisible leader, who seldom emerges from the shadows of the Glenn Maxwells and David Millers.

Inconsistent batting
The home bowling has struggled. On the batting front, barring JP Duminy, all have struggled, including the ridiculously expensive Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay, not to mention KP.

On the other hand, KXIP now have the most pugnacious batting in the business and Delhi isn't equipped to challenge a batting that can set, or chase down, 200-plus targets with ease.
