The BCCI is yet uncertain about player retention for IPL-11 or even the number of teams for that matter

The BCCI is yet uncertain about player retention for IPL-11 or even the number of teams for that matter. IPL-10 had eight teams, but IPL-11 will include Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), making it 10 teams. IPL Governing Council chairman Rajiv Shukla yesterday met all franchise owners in the presence of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai and member Diana Edulji to consider their views and suggestions.

"We have taken their opinion. Some said they wanted to retain three players, other said five, while some said more than five. Another felt only one should be retained. So we will take the majority views into account," Shukla said after the meeting yesterday. When asked, if former CSK skipper MS Dhoni would play for Rising Pune Supergiants, whom he has represented for the last two seasons, or CSK, whom he led before that, Shukla said: "Right now, I can't say anything, because we first have to take a decision on retention and only after that can I tell you."
