A few hours after India's historic victory here at Kingsmead, former India captain Rahul Dravid caught up with MiD DAY for an exclusive chat.
Excerpts:
On completing 200 catches during the Test:
It obviously feels really good to get there. It's not about the numbers though. Such records are just something attached to longevity. But it felt nice to get there.
On the 87-run victory:
It was a very good Test match. We played better cricket. The wicket probably suited the South Africans more. We expect them to bounce back. It should be an interesting final Test match.
On how this win compares to Perth 2008, Nottingham 2007 and Johannesburg 2006:
I never compare victories. Each one is special and unique. It is important to celebrate every win. Each has its own significance. I can't say the other was more important. As a player, you have worked really hard for each of them, so they are all sweet. Obviously, the one you have won most recently is freshest in memory.u00a0u00a0
On not getting big scores thus far (in the series)...
A little bit disappointed. I feel I have been playing really well. My feet have been moving really well. It would have been nice to carry on. I got a few good deliveries in the previous Test. In the second innings here, I played a terrible shot.u00a0 But, when you know you are batting well, a big one is always round the corner.
