Former India opener Gautam Gambhir was at the receiving end of Twitterati who lashed at him for saying that 'he doesn't believe in biopics on cricketer'.
On Sunday, a tweet on Gambhir's official handle read, "I don't believe in biopics on cricketers. I think those people who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers deserve a biopic. There are lots of people in the country who have done so many noble deeds for the nation. Therefore, biopics should be made on their lives."
Gautam Gambhir, then took to Twitter to clarify regarding the entire controversy saying that he is not against 'any one cricketer'.
Earlier, Gautam Gambhir stoked a fresh controversy asserting that films shouldn't be made on cricketers but on those people who have contributed for the welfare of the country and hence are more 'deserving' of biopics.
Ganbhir's comments were seen here as controversial considering they have been made barely days before the release of an eagerly-awaited biopic on the life of India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
