No two teams played as hard when they locked horns in local cricket as Dadar Union Sporting Club and Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG) did till the 1980s. On Saturday, these two institutions met at Shivaji Park for an annual festival match that saw Dadar Union's cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar in attendance and Ajit Wadekar wearing SPG colours.

SPG won the eight-over game by four runs. The hosts scored 89 and Dadar Union were left with the task of scoring 24 in the last over. Salil Datar started off with two sixes and a four off Manoj Joglekar, but couldn't win.
