New York: Shashank Manohar, the mastermind behind the new revenue model in the International Cricket Council (ICC) will continue to stay as chairman for one more year.
According to the sources in the ICC, Manohar, who had resigned in March, but was later persuaded to stay on till the AGM in June this year, will complete his full term, which ends next year.
"It is too early to say who would replace him next year, but it is certain that he will continue even after the AGM this year", the source said.
BCCI mull CT pull-out
In the meantime, the Indian cricket board is "seriously considering" to pull out of the Champions Trophy, it is learnt here.
According to BCCI sources, the decision is likely to be announced soon after a series of meetings among Board members.
Everyone in the present Indian cricket board set-up is blaming ICC chairman Manohar for the fiasco over revenue sharing.
N Srinivasan, the former BCCI and ICC chief, whose Big Three dream has been shattered, is keenly following the developments. He said, "I am not saying the BCCI will pull out, but how can we play the Champions Trophy in the current scenario?"
Srinivasan suffered a blow when the Supreme Court of India did not allow him to represent the BCCI at the ICC. "Don't worry, we will overcome all situations," he said.
