Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his team was too weak this season.
The defending Premier League and Champions League champions are confronting the prospect of finishing this campaign empty-handed.
Chelsea currently trails Manchester United by nine points in the Premier League title race, and has been knocked out of the Champions League.
"I don't think the squad was good enough this year. At the start of the season, we couldn't have envisaged having very important players out at the same time - and we struggled to manage that," the Daily Express quoted Ancelotti, as saying.
