The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the BCCI will have a new chairman soon with S Madan Lal leaving the post.

Madan Lal, a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian team, is already over 70 and as per the BCCI constitution, he cannot continue further. The other two CAC members - RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik - will continue on the committee. The CAC was formed in January last year.

"Yes, I am not a part of the CAC anymore. I was aware of the 70-year rule and was informed by the BCCI when I took up the job," Madan Lal told mid-day on Tuesday.
Madan Lal's CAC had picked Chetan Sharma as the chairman of national selectors and filled the other two vacancies with Abey Kuruvilla (West Zone) and Debasis Mohanty (East Zone) in the five-member national selection panel. Madan Lal & Co also selected Ramesh Powar as head coach of the Indian women's team.

"I enjoyed my stint. I did my job with honesty and to the best of my ability," said Madan Lal.
