Modi asserted that problems cannot be resolved on the battlefield and stressed that dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for sovereignty and international laws are essential for lasting peace.

Highlighting the importance of the Indo-Pacific region, Modi called for a free, open, and rule-based Indo-Pacific to ensure peace and prosperity for the entire region.

Modi advocated for maritime activities to align with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), promoting freedom of navigation and airspace in the South China Sea.

Modi described terrorism as a serious global threat and urged countries to unite against forces threatening global peace and security.

Modi reaffirmed India’s support for ASEAN centrality in its Indo-Pacific vision, recognising the alignment between India’s Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative and ASEAN’s outlook.

Modi called for engagement with Myanmar to restore democracy and expressed support for the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus while maintaining humanitarian assistance.

Modi conveyed condolences for those affected by Typhoon Yagi and mentioned India’s humanitarian assistance through Operation Sadbhav.

Modi reiterated India’s responsibility as ‘Vishwabandhu’ to contribute to global peace efforts and expressed India’s dedication to helping resolve global conflicts.
