UK mother turned detective to track down the man who had exposed himself to her 12-year-old; she was only able to do this because was wearing his name badge during the incident
London: If a woman is determined, there is practically nothing she can't do. And if the determination is for her kids, then there are no chances of a âno'. This all seemed completely true in a recent case in London, where a mother of a 12-year-old girl used Facebook to trace the man who sexually harassed her daughter, and got him prosecuted.
The incident
The 33-year-old accused, identified as Adam Stevenson, approached the girl when she was at a bus stop. The incident occurred in May this year. The man walked past the bus stop a couple of times and then said to her, "Have you got the time?" The man then undid his trousers, exposed his genitals and started moving his hand backwards and forwards, in front of the survivor.

Later, he propositioned the child, who ran home, and narrated the incident to her mother. The accused was wearing a name badge at the time and the 12-year-old could only remember his first name âAdam' written on a badge on his work uniform.
Turning detective
Her mum scoured Facebook for people in her village called Adam and she spotted a photo of a man who fitted the description, which her daughter identified. Soon after, the woman contacted the police, who arrested Stevenson. Following his arrest, Stevenson initially denied the offence, but when he was presented before the Sunderland Magistrates Court, he admitted, saying it was a "stupid, stupid thing to do." The man was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and pay total costs of 825 pounds, of which 500 pounds would go as compensation to the survivor.
