Following Donald Trump's surprise victory in the US Presidential election, Melania Trump is all set to take over as the next First Lady of US. Here is some trivia about her you may be keen to know about.

Born in southeastern Slovenia on April 26, 1970, Melania is the daughter of Amalija and Viktor Knavs, who managed car and motorcycle dealerships for a state-owned vehicle manufacturer.

Melania can speak as many as six languages. Apart from her native Slovenian, she is fluent in Serbian, English, French, Italian and German.

Melania began her modelling career at the age of 16, when she posed for Slovenian fashion photographer Stane Jerko. She was even the runner-up in the 1992 Jana Magazine ‘Look of the Year' contest, held in Ljubljana.

She moved to New York in 1996, and met Donald Trump at a Fashion Week party in New York City in 1998. At that time, he was married to, but separated from Marla Maples. In 2000, Melania appeared with Donald while he campaigned for the Reform Party presidential nomination. As love blossomed, they got engaged in 2004, and exchanged wedding vows on January 22, 2005, at The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida.

Melania will be the first foreign-born woman to become the First Lady of US since Louisa Adams, the British-born wife of John Quincy Adams. The latter served was President from 1825 to 1829.
