This Frenchman is taking mutilation to another level by replacing his fingers with a claw

A 33-year-old Frenchman who has transformed his body in a bid to become a "black alien" has now reportedly gotten two fingers chopped off his left hand to form a freakish claw. Anthony Loffredo's apparent surgery is the latest in a series of procedures the wannabe extraterrestrial has undergone, including getting his nose and upper lip cut off, his tongue split and his entire body - including his eyeballs - covered in tattoos.

But despite the shocking alterations, the oddball mutilation aficionado said he has only achieved 34 per cent of his goal in turning into an alien, The US Sun reported. Loffredo, who posts about his increasingly disturbing looks on Instagram under an account called the Black Alien Project, posted new images to document his grotesque surgery.

"I develop inner peace," he captioned an image of his hand, which appears to have stitches where the ring finger and pinky used to be. In 2017, he told the French paper Midi Libre, "From a very young age, I have been passionate about mutations and transformations of the human body. I realised that I was not living my life the way I wanted. I stopped everything at 24 and left for Australia," he told the outlet.

"I love getting into the shoes of a scary character. I often settle down somewhere and play a role, especially at night in the dark streets… I explore the contrast between the role I play and myself," Loffredo added. Loffredo's bizarre work has been praised by some admirers while denounced by others. "Blatant disrespect to those that are unfortunate to have lost limbs and look for ways to function as the human body should," one social media user wrote, the news outlet reported.

Teen unable to store fat

UK teen's rare 1-in-600 million condition only affects 13 people worldwide

A UK teenager is shedding light on his super-rare affliction - which affects only 13 people worldwide - that prevents him from retaining fat, among other horrific complications. However, despite being unable to put on pounds, the brave boy is not losing hope. "I am a lot more than just my condition, which is why I feel it is so important to share my story," Dylan Lombard, 18, told Caters of his courageous battle. The Glasgow native suffers from Mandibular hypoplasia-deafness-progeroid syndrome, or MDP syndrome, a premature aging disease that prevents fatty tissue from being stored subcutaneously. It results in an undersized lower jaw, deafness and "beaked nose," per the Genetic and Rare Disease Information Centre. Since it affects only 1 in 600 million people, Lombard is just one of 13 recorded MDP patients on the planet.

Grandma's tale goes viral

Scott would spend the hours between 3 am and 5 pm at the farm picking cotton.

New tech to expose liars

Using stickers printed on soft surfaces containing electrodes that monitor and measure the activity of muscles and nerves, a team of Israeli researchers led by Prof Dino Levy from Tel Aviv University, discovered that some people involuntarily activate muscles in their cheeks and eyebrows when they lie. No sensors had been able to measure these subtle muscle contractions before.

Police in Tennessee said "several gallons" of whiskey spilled onto a highway on-ramp when a truck carrying $400,000 worth of the beverage overturned. The Murfreesboro Police Department said the semi-truck was turning onto an Interstate 24 when it tipped over, causing some of the bottles to break.
