London: UK Independence Party (UKIP) leadership hopeful Steven Woolfe (49) yesterday ended up in the neurological unit of a hospital in Strasbourg, France as he suffered two seizures hours after an "altercation" with colleagues.

He was allegedly hit by UKIP MEP Mike Hookem - something the latter denies. Party chairman has said an inquiry has been launched and "appropriate action" if necessary will be taken.
